"De"-service Charge

Recently I had my dinner in one of the nearby hawker centre. As usual I ordered a coconut by saying “kelapa satu” from the waiter. From his face, as if like I came from Mars. Quickly I realised that he is not an Indonesian, may be he is a Vietnamese or Burmese, so I instantly switched my language to english and cantonese by saying “Cononut” and “Ye Ji”. Unfortunately, his facial expression still look empty like a blank paper. I’ve finally gave up and placed the order with the shop owner.

If we pay fees for good service rendered, should we bill waiter for “de”-service charge for ordering food in multiple languages?

苦乐之乐

谚语常说[人生不如意之事，十之八九]，快乐如意之事可真是可遇不可求。
可是我们地球上的乐事切苦乐参半，不是真乐。

比如说，你很喜欢吃佛跳墙，你会很快乐如果我请你吃一锅佛跳墙。可是如果请你吃五锅，十锅呢？那你的胃可就受罪，乐就变成苦了。

如果你说考试得了全国第一名，你就快乐。可是如果你给你天天得第一名，你不是要天天埋头苦读吗？人生那还有乐趣！再说天天考第一，你真的会快乐吗？

人间的乐是苦乐之乐，不是真乐。真乐没有参杂苦的成份，无时无刻都快乐。

年轻人的困境

时下的年轻人，尤其是毕业生，都不时受到大众的指责及媒体负面的报道。不可以否认，这些弱点的确出现在一些年轻人身上。可是也有一班默默耕耘，脚搭实地的年轻人。

目前生活环境“恶劣”，就业竞争激烈，百物腾涨，待遇却没有太大的调幅，年终花红大多都是可遇不可求。尤其是生活在大城市，月薪七折八扣之下，都没有多余的储蓄。

十年前，小弟第一份月薪一千八。十年候的今天，月入少过千八的大学生，比比皆是。十年前还可以勉强购买一辆花蝴蝶，如今在低利息的当而，购买灵鹿也都要三思而后行，更不用说如何在财务上孝敬双亲了。孝子难做啊！

这是社会的不幸呢？还是个人的造化呢？见仁见智。

After digging to a depth of 100m last year, Russian scientists found traces of copper wiring dating back 1000 years, and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network onethousand years ago.

So as not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, American scientists dug 200m, and headlines in the US newspapers read: "US scientists have found traces of 2000 year old optical fibers and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high tech digital telephone 1000years earlier than the Russians."

One week later, a Malaysian scientist En Mat Boot Apiau, reported the following: "After digging as deep as 500m at Tg. Kidurong, Malaysian scientists found absolutely nothing. They have concluded that 5000 years ago,their ancestors were already using wireless mobile phones."
